WHY STUDY THE GASTROINTESTINAL AND NUTRITIONAL HEALTH PROBLEMS?

The GASTROINTESTINAL AND NUTRITIONAL HEALTH PROBLEM affects the biopsychosocial well-being of any person who has it. It frequently leads to disability and may even cause death.

Every primary health care physician should know how to manage any patient with or with possible GASTROINTESTINAL AND NUTRITIONAL HEALTH PROBLEM. He should also know how to handle GASTROINTESTINAL AND NUTRITIONAL HEALTH PROBLEM in the community as well as to deal with issues associated with the problem, such as bioethical, psychosocial, medicolegal and research issues.

COURSE FOCUS: GASTROINTESTINAL AND NUTRITIONAL DISORDERS

GENERAL COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the end of the course, the primary health care physician -graduate must be able to:

1. Write an overview and a personal perspective on GASTROINTESTINAL AND NUTRITIONAL DISORDERS in general and specific GASTROINTESTINAL AND NUTRITIONAL DISORDERS in particular, as a global, national and local health problem.

2. Manage any patient presenting with a GASTROINTESTINAL AND NUTRITIONAL DISORDER.

2.1 Demonstrate skills in

4. Conduct a public health education program on the prevention and early detection of GASTROINTESTINAL AND NUTRITIONAL DISORDERS.
